10 November: It's been over seven months since I last updated this site. My apologies. My wife and I moved in early March and for some reason I could no longer update the site via FTP. Because I am concentrating on finishing another book manuscript I did not have time to do anything about it. I hope to begin regular updates again in 2020.

30 May: After a long hiatus to write other things I am back to working on this site. I uploaded my June COM, and the start of the February COM which I wrote earlier. The months March-May 2016 will not have a Can of the Month. I also updated my Heurich Book status page. I hope to continue adding more Cans of the Month this year, but expect they'll be somewhat shorter than normal until my book is finally at the printers.

25 September: Because I am trying to finish my book manuscript (a biography of DC brewer Christian Heurich) before January 2016, and because I have a lot of class prep to do for my teaching duties, I will not have a Can of the Month for August, September, November, or December 2015. There is an October COM, and I will try to finish updating my previous months' pages.

5 March: Did some more work on my page about the steamship SS Frank Jones. I just received a 1907 pamphlet from one of the shipping lines that owned the Frank Jones that I won on eBay so I have more information and pictures to share.

I am starting a project I've been putting off for too long, updating my Can of the Month pages. I've been saving articles, emails, photos, etc, and over the next month or so I'll be doing a lot of updates. So, please check here (or my sitemap) to see what I've updated recently.
